Attic24 - The “Infamous” Crochet Enabler’s Blog

<Edited Sept. to add quotes around the Infamous and added”Crochet Enabler’s” thereafter… Thanks, Green Grannie (see her comment in the comment section) for pointing out this needs major clarification!

To hookers (crocheters), when you are ‘infamously known as an enabler of intricate color changing work’ with emphasis and notoriety focus on the “enabling” part it is definitely a compliment.

If you simply love color changing, ends weaving, and motif joining, then the word would be Famous or Fabulous instead — which, Lucy IS! Now, if you simply can’t stand those things, but because of Lucy’s blog, you have a love-hate relationship with them all then I believe you can chuckle with the word “infamous” as it is quite befitting next to your umpteen multicolored WIPs).>

Lucy of Attic24 is an iconic blogger known in the Crochet World - worldwide. Her work is so well known that the number one yarn supplier online in the UK, Deramores has an inspired yarn pack that crocheters in the U.S. refer to as the Lucy Pack.

If you as to mention Lucy of Attic24 in a large facebook crochet group, you are bound to get the ooo’s and the ahh’s as a reply.

Attic24 is Lucy’s blog about her fiber adventures as well as her other crafty obsessions and life in general. She is best known for her fantastic color selection in her granny stripes work.

Yarndale 2013 - What is it?

Straight from the Yarndale About Us page,

“Held at Skipton Auction Mart, Yarndale is an exciting new venture which aims to celebrate the beauty and diversity of wool, cotton, linen and silk fibres in all their forms. The event will bring together an inspiring mix of retailers, manufacturers, craft workers and artisans from all over the country who are passionate about beautiful yarns, threads and textile treasures.”

As a part of the Yarndale Team, Lucy of Attic24 put out a blog call to her fans to join her in the Bunting Cause for Yarndale 2013. She describes in detail what is needed and how to prepare the granny triangles properly for the buntings. All information can be found here: Attic24 Bunting Cause Request

Furthermore, Lucy has also written about The Yarn Walk direct from Yarndale blog page here: Yarndale - The Yarn Walk

  1. Lucy’s blog is what first inspired me to bring my crocheting and other crafts into my blog. I love how she mixes her crochet and her life in her blog.

    • It is something that I have come to admire about hers as well as yours (blogs) and may be pushing me to a new project in the nearest future. *excited*

Not everyone can pull it off and find the right balance, so hats off to you, my dear Jessie @ home :)

  2. I have been an Attic 24 fan for some time, and think Lucy is the “cat’s meow.” Or some such phrase. That’s why I wonder if you really meant to say that Lucy’s blog is “infamous,” which means:
“1: having a reputation of the worst kind : notoriously evil
2: causing or bringing infamy : disgraceful
3: convicted of an offense bringing infamy”

I’ll bet you really meant one of infamous’ antonyms which include “esteemed, prestigious, reputed, respected.” Those are words I’d use to describe her work.
    Best Wishes!

    • Hi Green Grannie~

Sorry for the delayed reply! I have been having some difficulty with my comment boxes and notifications that I completely missed this comment until yesterday.

Nevertheless, your comment sent me mad dashing to add to the original post because it definitely warrants a great explanation to the Loungers I don’t interact with on a daily basis! ♥

Please do read through the post again - THANK YOU for pointing out the faux pas - eek! :D

  3. I love your brilliant colours. You certainly have a way with putting colours together. I live abroad and would like to know if you have a shop or showroom etc that I cans visit when I come over in the spring.

Drop the hook & leave a message :D
